SydWest celebrates Harmony Day in Blacktown & Penrith

A colorful opportunity to experience the region’s rich cultural diversity

SydWest Multicultural Services is participating in both the Blacktown and Penrith Harmony Day this year, which will be celebrated Wednesday, 21 March, across Australia, encouraging everyone to feel they belong and to share in the rich cultural diversity of their local areas.

In Blacktown, Harmony Day 2018 is being celebrated at Bowman Hall, Campbell Street Blacktown from 10 am to 2 pm, with a program of cultural entertainment, information stalls, fun activities, a free BBQ lunch and more.

The local community will be encouraged to join in the fun, learn more about the many cultures of Blacktown and take part in the Welcome Wall design workshops happening on the day. Lots of fun and entertainment for everyone!

In Penrith, SydWest Multicultural Services is part of the celebrations happening from 11:30 to 2 pm, in Mondo (Between The Joan and Westfield), High Street, Penrith. Activities on the day will include speeches, henna tattooing, storytelling and a special visit by Western Sydney Wanders. Refreshments and light lunch will be provided to all participants.

The theme for this Harmony Day is “Everyone Belongs” and is an opportunity for all Australians — new and old — to come together to celebrate and embrace the many cultures that make up the community. It is a day for cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
